The Scottish Geology Trust has a great writeup of the site, which is far more detailed than any I would write here – well recommended for anyone with an interest in this site.

There are several mines in the area with very similar names, which may cause some confusion: Alfred, Alfred Consols, North Alfred, South Alfred, West Alfred Consols, Mellanear and West Alfred

Mindat lists 27 minerals from the site, including Agardite, mimetite, and pyromorphite.
