Loe Warren Zawn

Botallack, St Just, Cornwall, England, UK

A mineralised lode in the cliffs below Wheal Edward and West Wheal Owles, and worked from inside one of the mines.

Certainly an interesting location – the site produces a range of uncommon minerals – argentine and cumengieite, asbestos minerals including actinolite and byssolite, and radioactive minerals including rutherfordine, trögerite, uraninite, vandendriesscheite, widenmannite, zeunerite.

Mineral specimens from the site are uncommon, as the lode is difficult to access.

It seems the lode was worked from an adit inside the mine – whether or not there is any access from the outside I have no idea!
