Levant Mine

Trewellard, St Just, Cornwall, England

A former copper-tin mine in west Cornwall, worked between 1793 and 1930.

The site is now a UNESCO world heritage site. The site extended nearly a mile out under the seabed and 600 meters below sea level.

Apparently in some areas of the mine, boulders and rocks could be heard rolling above the seabed above the miners heads.

The mine produced thousands of tons of copper, tin, and arsenic, as well as some silver and bismuth.

Mindat lists 45 minerals from the site, including a range of copper and tin ores.
