Mindat lists 19 mineral species from the site including a range of ore minerals.

The site contains Trenow Consols and Wheal Charlotte.

The site was worked from 1806 (probably as ‘North Towan’), but was soon closed. It was reopened in the 1830s (probably as ‘New Charlotte’) and worked until at least 1877, when it was renamed as Charlotte United Mines.

The site closed soon afterwards.

The site was bought in 1956 by the National Trust.
