Crantock, Cornwall, England, UK

The location of a former smelter. The beach underneath is covered with slag from smelting, within which can be found micro minerals.

Mindat lists 40 minerals from the site, including some very interesting microminerals – boleite, diaboleite, laurionite, minium, phosgenite, pseudoboleite.

Slag minerals are almost exclusively micro minerals – they are very small, often secondary minerals.

Magnification will almost always be required.
