Binner Downs Mine

Leedstown, Crowan, Cornwall, England, UK

Former copper mine worked between 1819 and 1838, with widespread dumps.

Mindat lists 16 mineral species from the site.

The site is abandoned and overgrown, but some access to dumps may be possible. Whether collecting is possible or allowed I am afraid I don’t know.

I wasn’t able to find too much information on the site. It appears many of the shafts have been capped, per the Cornwall Archaeological Unit.
