Small pieces of Australian boulder Opal, nice little additions to any mineral collections.
Boulder Opal consists of veins of Opal running through ironstone or another stone matrix - these specimens are a lower grade and will not be suitable for cutting. However, they do make nice specimen pieces at a good price point.
Currently all of our stock consists of smaller pieces from Coober Pedy - small veins of Opal sitting on, or in Limonite.
They typically do have some play of colour, but it is minor. The colours are typically blue, sometimes green, and this may be highlighted by wetting the Opal.
