Cornish 'Agate' specimens

An unusual material sold as Cornish Agate - however, it is typically a variety of things, from a banded Agate, to a brecciated or layered Quartz.

In Cornwall, where it is found, it is locally known as 'Cornish Agate', so this is what I'll call it!

I have quite a few different pieces in stock, including rough, tumbled, and polished pieces.

  • #1 - 45x43x7MM - a cut piece with one polished and one rough side. It's a nice mixed up piece with fibrous layers of a creamy-white material.
  • #2 - 47.6x36.6x11.2MM - a cut pebble with one rough side and one polished side - a mixture of browns, red, and creams.
  • #3 - 48.5x45x18.2MM - a cut pebble with one rough side and one polished side - a mixture of browns and creams.
  • #4 - 44.8x25.2x20.3MM - a tumble polished piece with a mixture of cream and brown colours.
  • #5 - 52x38x10.8MM - a cut piece with one polished and one rough side. A mixed up piece with layers of a creamy-white material.
  • #6 - 50x44x9MM - a cut piece with one polished and one rough side. A mixed up piece with layers of a creamy-white material.
  • #7 - 51x43x15.5MM- a cut pebble with one rough side and one polished side - a mixture of browns and creams.
  • #8 - 41x35x9MM - a cut pebble with one rough side and one polished side - a mixture of browns and creams.
  • #9 - 57x36.4x29MM - a rough pebble, water rounded. This could either be tumbled or cut into slices. A nice mix of creams, purples, and browns is visible from the outside.
  • #10 - 43.5x29.6x13.8MM - A tumbled piece with a nice red-brown colour and plenty of mixed up creams and whites.
  • #11 - 37.2x37.2x5.3MM  - a cut pebble with one rough side and one polished side - a mixture of browns and creams.
  • #12 - 39.7x27.3x19MM - A tumbled piece with a nice red-brown colour and plenty of mixed up creams and whites.
  • #13 - 104x60x35MM - an outstanding piece consisting of a pebble sliced in half with the two internal sides polished. Lots to look at here - brecciated Quartz, Chalcedony, sagenitic Agate - it has areas of grey, brown, red, purple and a creamy white.

Frequently asked questions and delivery information

How do we grade stones?

There is no overall universal grading system for the majority of our products. As such, the grades we use are internal only. They simply refer to higher and lower qualities, but they may be entirely different grades to other websites. C grade pieces are of lower quality than B grade, which is lower than A grade.

How does our ordering and delivery process work?

You place an order via the website. When it’s been picked and packed, your order will be marked as completed and dropped off at our local post office. We have an account with the post office called a “Drop and Go” account, which allows the post office staff to process our parcels when they have free time, rather than me queuing up and delaying everyone else.

I get tracking information etc online when this has been completed. I typically do not send tracking information to customers unless they request it – but if you’ve requested tracked postage, it has been sent tracked! If you have any worries or concerns about your parcel being delayed please feel free to get in touch and I’ll send the tracking info over! We also get delivery confirmations for parcels over 25MM thick by default.

How do international orders work?

After Brexit, with the UK leaving the European Union, certain things have changed with regards to international orders. European Union customers will now likely be liable to pay the same amount of import VAT as any other international customers. You will be responsible for any customs and import fees.

I’d like to return my order for a refund.

No problem at all – just get in touch and we’ll arrange it. You can read our full returns policy here.

What payment methods do you accept?

I can accept Paypal, Stripe, cheque, and direct bank transfers. Paypal and Stripe will both allow you to pay with credit and debit cards.
