Spessartine, Opal-AN and Manganite from Yunxiao County, Zhangzhou, Fujian, China

Very nice mixed specimen plates, consisting of a range of minerals - spessartine garnet, feldspars, Opal-AN (hyalite), manganite, and occasionally quartz. The hyalite opal is fluorescent under 365nm light - usually rather brightly.

These come from Yunxiao County, China - a vague locale, and it is likely the exact locality is the Wushan Spessartine Mine. Unfortunately, full locality information was not recorded by the previous owner.

They often have saw cut or shaped backs; although some are rough and natural.
