Poplar wood slices for crafting
Cute little wood slices for pyrography and general crafting.
These slices are available in several sizes, and are typically 4-5MM thick. This poplar is a very lightweight wood, generally with excellent contrasting stripes/bands.
I think they're absolutely perfect for pyrographers (the fancy name for woodburning), or for making things like Christmas baubles, painting, or other small decorations. They're cheap enough that to buy enough for a class of students is still reasonably affordable, too.
The slices may come with or without bark - the bark is quite thin and papery, and sometimes peels away quite easily.
They are cut to a reasonable standard but some sanding is recommended for the best results.
There are a couple of different sizes available:
- 30-40MM in diameter, sold as a packet of ten.
- 40-50MM in diameter, sold as a packet of ten.
- 50-60MM in diameter, sold as a packet of five.
- 60-70MM in diameter, sold as a packet of five.
- Bags of fifty in mixed sizes from 30-60MM approximately.

Really disappointed with my order this time. The last time I ordered a bag of mixed sizes, there were about equal numbers of 3, 4, 5 and 6 cm pieces, this time it’s about half 6cm, and the other half are 4cm. I specifically ordered the mixed bag because I need all the sizes, very disappointed that was not the case this time around
