Cut and Polished Ammonite Pairs

These Ammonite pairs are cut from a single fossilised Ammonite. This means you get an almost perfect colour match, but unfortunately do lose some of the depth, as the cutting and polishing does remove some material.

Most of these pieces are from Madagascar, but I'm afraid I'm not sure of the species. Cutting them in half like this leaves an interesting display piece, showing the inner chambers of the Ammonite - which often contain little voids of Quartz or Calcite crystals.

These are nice large pieces, perfect as a display item. They currently come without a stand, but we are looking at getting some made.
