Hematite Filled Ammonite Halves
An interesting way to show off a fossil - these cut and polished Ammonites show you the inside of the Ammonite fossil itself. These are not matching pairs - just one cut half.
The inside section has been polished, giving you a look at the small chambers and sections, many of which have filled with hematite and are now polished, shiny Iron ore.
The back side has been left unpolished and rough.
These Ammonites make excellent display pieces, due to their polish. We hope to be able to sell some small display stands or cases for them soon.
The pictures you see here are representative of the products and are usually not the exact item you will receive. Where various grades are available we do try to photograph each grade - but some photographs are still on their way!

Nice fossils and as I am working on demonstrating aspects of hematite from our local iron ore field this is a great alternative to conventional geology. The items were nicely prepared to a great quality.
