Cheiloceras Goniatites

Cheiloceras is a form of thick, rounded Goniatite, often Hematite replaced. It is often referred to as an Ammonite - this is accurate, as Goniatites are an order under the subclass Ammonoidea.

Our current stock of these pieces comes from Erfoud, Morocco and are available in a few sizes.

Goniatites are not as well known as Ammonites, and are sometimes sold polished. The mineral replacement can cause some gorgeous brown colours.
