Corundum Specimens / Rough (Blue/Sapphire)

Blue Corundum / Sapphire Specimens

Small rough pieces of blue Corundum, a form of Aluminium Oxide, more commonly known as a 'sapphire'.

These pieces are available in a few sizes and make a decent study specimen. Obviously, these are not high grade specimens, and will never be cut and faceted!

As quite a hard stone, these pieces may be suitable for rock tumbling. It is a good idea to try the lower priced black Corundum before tumbling even low grade Ruby or Sapphire, which are more expensive by far.
