The Topaz from this site grows within cavities of volcanic Rhyolite, and can be really rather gemmy – although in a lot of cases the rhyolite ingrows through the Topaz too.
Red Beryl (bixbite) is found on the site too, in extremely, extremely rare cases. Bixbite is one of the rarest minerals on the planet.
Bixbite is a deprecated name which we try not to use anymore, due to how easy it is to confuse with bixbyite, another mineral from the location. Bixbyite, on the other hand, isn’t especially rare, and is often found growing with topaz.
