Meteorites from the USA
The USA is a reasonably good place to hunt for meteorites, and has at least one very famous locale which have been made into a tourist attraction.
Numerous meteorite impact craters are now used for oil production.

The easiest meteorite to buy specimens from is the Canyon Diablo, where small pieces can be bought for sub £50.
Famous impact locations in the USA:
- Avak Crater, Utqiagvik, Alaska
- Barringer Crater, Winslow, Arizona, USA (Canyon Diablo)
- Chesapeake Bay Crater, Atlantic Ocean near Cape Charles, Virginia, USA
- Sierra Madera Crater, Pecos, Texas
I haven’t included the Willamette meteorite, as this is likely to have impacted in Canada and been transported as a glacial erratic.
