Topaz crystal specimens with Bixbyite
Small crystalline specimens of Topaz with minor Bixbyite - very small lustrous black crystals sitting on the Topaz. Bixbyite should not be confused with bixbite - red beryl, which is extremely rare and expensive.
These specimens all come from Topaz Mountain, Thomas Range, Juab County, Utah, USA - which is the type locality for Bixbyite. The Topaz from this area is often intergrown with a pale grey powdery Rhyolite, and these specimens are no exception - so arguably they are Bixbyite on Topaz and Rhyolite.
These are the lower end of the collectors specimens range - some fine specimens can sell for hundreds of pounds, perhaps more.
I have listed a slightly nicer piece as well, and will keep an eye out for some more good specimens.
