Nice little specimen of Malachite, probably from Gumeshevskii Cu Mine, Russia.

This specimen came to us labelled 'Malachite, Gum Escheusk, Urals, USSR'. The USSR label suggests its pre 1990.

I suspect this is a poor translation of Gumeshevskii Cu Mine, but I can't guarantee it unfortunately.

This locale is sometimes given a few other names, which could go some way to explaining the translation. The best match is Gumeschevsk - which is an almost identical match if the U is replaced with a V.

As I can't be 100% on the locale, I have labelled this one as being "Possibly from".
