Mahoumacrinus Crinoid Mortality Plate
This lovely display piece is a Mahoumacrinus Crinoid from the Devonian period.
It shows a stem rich matrix rock with a partial Calyx and comes from the fossil beds around Erfoud, Morocco.
This piece measures approximately 18CM by 12CM by 4-5CM and is quite weighty – I think it is between 2-3KG.
Unfortunately, there has been some damage to this specimen while it was being shipped from Morocco. You can see this in the photographs – the pale white areas are edge damage to the various fossils. The damage is thankfully quite minimal, but this piece does lose some of its detail due to it.
