Galena Specimens from the UK (Lead Ore)

Cool little Galena specimens from the UK - typically from the Mendip Hills, but we do occasionally have stock from other locales.

Galena has been used as a lead ore for millenia - it was mined heavily by the Romans, and has been mined for most of the time since!

Lead is, of course, toxic - so wash your hands after handling these pieces. A display case is recommended, as well as keeping them out of the reach of children and animals.

Our current stock includes:

  • Mixed size pieces from Leadhills, South Lanarkshire, Scotland - typically Galena in a calcite matrix.
