Berta Quarry has served a few uses; an ancient metal ore mine, a modern aggregate quarry, and more recently, a waste management project.

Numerous species of minerals are found here - various ore minerals, including sphalerite, goethite, vanadinite, cuprite, galena, azurite, etc - and, of course, fluorite!
