Fish coprolites from Wardie Shales, Granton, Midlothian, Scotland

Interesting specimens these; ironstone nodules containing coprolites - which are probably from Megalichthys - a lobe-finned fish.

These nodules are from the Visean, from 346.7 to 330.3 million years ago, a part of the carboniferous.

The size of the coprolite inside varies; as does the size of the nodule. The nodules have been cut in half and polished on the front - you will receive a randomly selected half. Some of the backs are polished too.
