Torr Works Quarry

Cranmore, Mendip, Somerset, England, UK

A limestone quarry near East Cranmore, producing crushed aggregate, as well as some interesting mineral specimens.

The site may also be known as Merehead Quarry.

Mindat lists 67 minerals from the site, including 8 for which it is the type locality – mereheadite, parkinsonite, plumbonacrite, rickturnerite, rumseyite, somersetite, symesite, yeomanite.

Some of the specimens from the site are really rather nice, especially the mendipite.
