Mindat lists over 80 minerals from the site, including some really quite rare specimens including paralstonite, alstonite, ewaldite, harmotome, and synchysite-Ce.
It is likely one of the most important mineralogical sites in Britain, as the only known English locality for various minerals and the first Welsh locality for various others.
The site is also well known for fossil flora and fauna, and is a SSSI.
