Blue Tourmaline on Matrix

Specimen pieces of blue Tourmaline on stone matrix, typically either Quartz or Feldspar. Blue Tourmaline is also known as 'indicolite'.

Blue Tourmaline is quite rare, especially at this price point - typically the higher quality pieces are used for jewellery.

However, the colours are great! The dark blue crystals do contrast nicely against the white matrix. These are, of course, primarily intended as a collectors item for those who can't afford the higher end Blue Tourmaline pieces.

Our current stock includes:

  • Various specimens from an unknown locale along the Pakistan/Afghanistan border - typically combinations of Quartz or Feldspar with blue, green, or black Tourmaline and sometimes Calcite and Garnet.
    • #1 - 28x24.8x20.7MM - a fairly aesthetic two tone piece, a great contrast between white feldspar and blue-black Tourmaline.
    • #2 - 34.5x26x21.8MM - if you like your specimens busy, this is the one. Mixed Tourmaline crystals over at least half the surface, including greens, green-blue, blues and blacks.
    • #3 - 46.6x33.3x21.7MM - almost the opposite of number 2 - a light smattering of Tourmaline across the surface of two conjoined Quartz points.

The pictures you see here are representative of the products and are usually not the exact item you will receive. Where various grades are available we do try to photograph each grade - but some photographs are still on their way!
