Decent quality specimens of Rhodochrosite from the Capillitas Mine.

Capillitas Mine is a complex mine, known for over 500 years. It bears copper and gold ore minerals as well as a wide range of other species - Mindat lists over 120!

It is simply one of the best locales for Rhodochrosite worldwide, with fine banded stalactites in a range of bright and pastel pink colours. I recommend taking a moment to quickly google 'Capillita stalactite' to see some excellent cross sections - albeit slightly less affordable.

The pieces sold here are not of stalactitic origin, and are not polished - however, they are still beautiful. Rhodochrosite, I do have to admit, almost always looks better polished - but not everyone will agree on that!

Alongside the numbered and photographed pieces, we also have some lower grade pieces that are sold randomly picked. A little bit darker, perhaps, but still nice.
