Interesting picture stone beads - perfect for jewellers looking for something a little unusual.

This stone often looks like an artists interpretation of a desert scene - especially when tumbled, or cut into slices and polished.

The beads don't quite have that same effect; at least, not the smaller beads. The larger ones may well resemble a landscape.

These were previously sold as Picture Jasper, but that is a trade name - we are trying to avoid using those where possible. This material is a dendritic layered siltstone from China, not a form of Jasper.

The material is sometimes also known as "Picture Jasper" or "Kalahari Picture Stone", and 'Picture stone' is itself a trade name - however, we are trying to avoid using any trade names which misuse the name of another mineral.

These beads are not freeforms, but they are also not calibrated beads - as such, an 8MM strand may contain beads that are 7.5MM or 8.5MM - the sizes may vary a little. Obviously, this doesn’t apply to the chip beads – these are random sizes!
