Australian Opal Preforms for Cabochon cutting

These opal preforms are pre-cut pieces, intended for lapidary artists to practice their polishing and finishing of these stones.

The parcel we have in stock currently is quite a low grade - a small amount of blue and green fire can be seen. They are from mixed fields across Australia, but mostly Lightning Ridge and Coober Pedy.

Preforms are ideal practice material and can be worked with various things, even something simple like a Dremel. You do not need heavy duty grinding wheels as most of the shaping work has been done for you.
