Our range of black Onyx flat cut, signet cut, and unusual cabochons - often with inlay stripes.
These are typically quite old fashioned, and were popular in old signet rings. They are ideal for repair jobs, but I'm sure some of you skillful lot will have a use for them in modern designs too!
They often have an inlay stripe of various materials - silver or gold metals, tigers eye, mother of pearl, malachite. I have not tested the metals - they are not assayed so I am selling them as a silver metal only.
There are a few terms associated with these stones that I need to define, as due to character limits in the menu I will be abbreviating them. Yes, I know thats awkward. Imagine the menu having a listing called '12x10MM Oval, flat top single bevel, double silver stripe, 1pc' though.
- FTSB - flat top, single bevel - a stone which goes from a flat top to a flat back with a single face
- FTDB - flat top, double bevel - a stone which goes from a flat top to a flat back with two faces, causing the sides to jut out in a V shape a little.
- SIS - single inlay stripe - a stone with a single stripe of some material
- DIS - double inlay stripe - a stone with a single stripe of some material
