Magnetite crystals in matrix
Gorgeous octahedral Magnetite crystals sitting in their original stone matrix. Magnetite is an iron ore which often forms into these really quite well defined octahedral crystals. In some cases, it is naturally magnetised and referred to as 'lodestone'.
When I first started selling minerals I underestimated Magnetite. I didn't think the small rusty octahedral crystals would be of much interest to anyone but the most dedicated mineral collectors, but I was wrong. It may be the interesting, almost unnatural feeling shape the crystals form into, or perhaps they are just a cheap oddity - either way, they have been very popular so far.
Our stock is very limited:
- Various sized specimens from Arendal, Norway, comprised of a heavily iron stained Feldspar and Quartz matrix and numerous indistinct Magnetite crystals.

The item arrived promptly and exactly as advertised. It was great to see a little magnet attached and it definitely showed that there was magnetic crystals in the sample.
