Faceted Fire Opal for jewellery making
A fairly recent but still popular stone, these faceted Fire Opal pieces are very popular with jewellers. Fire Opal comes from Mexico and doesn't always have any play of colour - however, it is a bright, clear orange.
While still a little soft for daily jewellery wear, they are harder than most Opal, and as such, pieces without the play of colour are often faceted - rather than cut en cabochon. I wouldn't recommend using these stones for a ring stone - perhaps earrings or pendants?
We do not hold much stock in these stones currently, our current stock consists of a range of 4-5MM round stones.
Their bright orange colouration is quite a selling point, making them look similar to rich Citrines, Imperial Topaz, or certain types of Garnet.
