Small specimen of calcite from the Red Hill Ochre Pit, North Somerset.

I assume this locale is the same as Winford Ochre Pit, under a different name; that site produced 'Winford Red ochre'.

#1 - This specimen was part of Roger Harkers collection and has two  of his labels glued to the perky box it comes mounted in. One had detached and has been stuck back on with a conservation grade tape.

The specimen is mounted with glue into the box. Ex. Roger Harker collection. There would have originally been a larger label on the back with more info and the Harker collection name, but this has been lost - as a result there are no labels bearing the Harker name; provenance is known by dozens of specimens from the same lot and the same labelling style.
