Saddleback Old Mine is a former lead mine worked briefly until 1894.

The mine appears to have been worked for lead, but primarily produced limonite – a form of yellow-brown iron ore. The owners attempted to market this as a pigment, but it was unsuccessful and the mine closed in 1894 only a few years after it was opened.

There were once dumps at the site, but they appear to have mostly been washed away by Storm Desmond in 2015. It is unclear whether any buildings remain on the site – small ruins still existed in 2006 but they may have also been damaged by the storms.

Mindat lists 28 minerals from the site, including some uncommon species – chiastolite, hinsdalite.
