Goose Green Mine

Frizington, Copeland, Cumbria, England

Goose Green mine is a former iron ore mine which produces a few mineral specimens including baryte and hematite.

The site appears to now be under farmland.

 

Goose Green Mine was an iron ore mine opened in 1855, worked until 1892. It was then abandoned in 1897 until some ore was extracted during the First World War, 1910-1913.
