Lavernock

Lavernock is a small hamlet on the Welsh coast between Penarth and Sully producing various fossil species.

The coastal cliffs contain Jurassic and Triassic age sedimentary rocks, which contain a range of fossils. In some rare cases, ichthyosaur fossils may be found in this area; a theropod dinosaur known as ‘Dracoraptor hanigan’ was found in 2015.
