An old copper mine, worked since 1718. It is the UK’s best known locale for childrenite.

Showing the single result

Mindat lists 8 minerals from the site, with particular emphasis on the childrenite specimens from the locale, bright gemmy brown specimens amongst the best in the world.

The mine opened in 1718 and was worked until 1868, by which point it was considered worked out.

A museum was opened in the site as part of the Morwellham Quay.
