Ardownie Quarry

Monifieth, Angus, Scotland

An active aggregate quarry which produced (or produces) fine specimens of quartz and agate from time to time.

Showing the single result

There is not too much available information on the site online, other than news reports and a limited mindat page.

The quarry produces excellent specimens of various forms of Quartz, particularly Agates – presumably it is crushing rock for aggregates and visits by collectors occasionally manage to save some specimens – unfortunately, I was not able to find any further information.
