Woolly Rhinoceros tooth

Fossilised Woolly Rhinoceras teeth, dating to the Pleistocene.

For some reason in my mind the term 'Woolly Rhinoceras' just doesn't... sound right. Nevermind, though...

Our current stock includes:

  • #1 - 82.5x72x43.4MM - A reasonable specimen, likely from Stephanorhinus kirchbergensis. From Russia, probably from the Siberian permafrost. It has been preserved with Paraloid but is unfortunately missing a section of enamel - this is the almost 'right angled' section beneath one of the roots.

The piece you see in the photos is the piece you'll receive - this is not a 'random grab' like most of our lower priced items.

I personally think this would make a decent teaching piece, alongside a model of the Woolly Rhino, or alongside a mammoth tooth.
