Capillitite is an uncommon variant of Rhodochrosite, in which the Manganese has been replaced by varying amounts of iron or zinc.
Rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate with the formula MnCO3 - the formula for Capillitite would be the variable (Mn,Zn,Fe)CO3.
Typically this results in a similar formation, but different colours; typically a pinky-brown.
The pieces we have in stock currently all have a polished face to the front of the piece and are rough over the rest.
