Rhodochrosite Specimens / Rough

This beautiful pink mineral is a favourite with collectors and lapidarists alike. I have to say, it does look even better polished up.

This mineral is sometimes called bacon rock, due to its pink and white banding.

These pieces come from the Capillitas Mine, in Catamarca, Argentina.

The specimens measure around 30-40MM along their longest point, and are available in two quality grades. The higher grade pieces have more defined bands, and sometimes slightly better colour, too.

The pictures you see here are representative of the products and are usually not the exact item you will receive. Where various grades are available we do try to photograph each grade – but some photographs are still on their way!
