Pearl necklaces
Pearls are a tremendously well known organic gem, often used for jewellery. Pearls were originally used around 400BC, or, at least - thats the first archaeological evidence we have.
However, their popularity has waned in recent decades. This is likely due to the range of cultured and artificial pearls now available at rock bottom prices. Has the pearl had its day?
We generally only stock cultured pearls but will do our best to keep it open and obvious.
Our current stock includes:
- 18 inch necklace made with cultured pearls, individually knotted to prevent them rubbing on each other. This necklace has a lobster clasp to allow for easy fastening around the neck. It does not stretch. These are really rather good quality Pearls with natural shapes, good white colour but plenty of natural looking flaws - I like these a lot more than the 'perfect' round ones.
