Nantan meteorite specimens from Guangxi, China
Genuine small specimen pieces of the Nantan meteorite fall from Nandan county, Guangxi province, China.
The Nantan fall was a large one, with a total known weight of around 9500 kilograms retrieved so far - the largest of which weighs around 2 tons and is sited in the National Museum of Nature and Science, Tokyo, Japan.
Luckily for us, this means a lot of material is available on the open market - meaning it is a fairly cheap meteorite, and a great place to start any extra-terrestrial collection.
The fall may have been observed in 1516, but it is very difficult to confirm whether the strewn field around Nantan is the one witnessed in 1516.
Our current stock all measure 20-30MM, with an approximate weight of 5-7 grams each. They do come in a small display box, however, unfortunately the quality of the boxes isn't the best and I find they are often scratched or scuffed in transit.
