Libethenite from West Wheal Jewel, St Day, Cornwall

An uncommon find, a scattering of Libethenite crystals on matrix.

West Wheal Jewel may refer to a few mines; and, perhaps confusingly, may also be known as Tolcarne Mine or North Wheal Damsel.

The mine likely contained some radioactive minerals including Autunite and Uranitite, but I have checked this piece with a geiger counter and it does not appear to contain any radioactive components.

Current stock includes:

  • #1 - 79.7x56.7x24.3MM - very small crystals - I would highly recommend a digital microscope or a good loupe for this piece.
