Thin sheets of Lepidolite, a lilac coloured variety of the mineral Mica. Mica often forms in an unusual cleavage referred to as a basal lamellar form.
Lepidolite is a well known and highly exploited source of Lithium, one of the more important elements in the modern age.
All of our current specimens come from Virgem da Lapa, Minas Gerais, Brazil . They are thin - 2-3MM thick - transparent to translucent, with a bright metallic lustre.
They are extremely fragile!
