Goethite and Quartz on Baryte specimens from the UK
Gorgeous Goethite on Baryte specimens from Taffs Well, near Cardiff.
These pieces have a good amount of both Goethite and Baryte growth, and have a spattering of Quartz crystals growing on top. The Quartz crystals are unusually coloured - this is due to something quite unusual. Many of the crystals have an additional Quartz point inside them, which is often iron or clay stained. These are sometimes referred to as 'Quartz phantoms' or 'manifestation Quartz'.
