Goethite and Quartz from the Restormel Royal Iron Mine, Lostwithiel, Cornwall (formerly Trinity Mine)

Specimens of Goethite and Quartz from the long-closed Restormel Royal Iron Mine, closed in 1883.

This specimen will have been collected in the 70s or 80s from spoil heaps, and the majority of the site seems to now private farmland - although it does appear cavers sometimes still access the main mine.

We currently have a few pieces in stock:

• #1 - 87.8x52.3x42.4MM - weighs approx 330g. Comes with a former retailers label.
• #2 - 35.6x34.5x20.3MM - weighs approx 20g. A much nicer specimen with fine crystalline goethite. Comes with a former owners label.
• #3 - 72.3x44x27.8MM - weighs approx 89.5g. A reasonable specimen with some crystalline goethite and crystalline quartz; several nice vugs.
