Members of the Collembola subclass in fossilised baltic Amber.
Collembola are more commonly known as 'springtails', a form of hexapod - these are no longer considered to be insects, and are instead classed as arthropods.
The Amber found in the Baltic sea region is thought to date from the Eocene in age - although the exact age is somewhat argued upon in the scientific community - it is probably best to simply state that it is 'around 40 million years old'.
Magnification will be required for this, as with all amber inclusions - they are on a very, very small scale.
We currently have a single piece in stock:
#1 - 16.9x9.6x3.5MM - two very, very small inclusions of the hexapod called Collembola, alongside one unidentified winged insect. The preservation isn't the best but numerous hairs are visible on both the insect and the larger of the two hexapods.
