Blue Apatite Specimens
Gorgeous specimens of blue Apatite, available in a few sizes and quality grades.
These are natural rough pieces of Blue Apatite, as they were found. Because they are rough pieces we can't guarantee the exact sizes, colours, patterning, etc.
Our current stock includes:
- Various specimens from Madagascar; while these are an acceptable grade of blue Apatite I think the most interesting thing about them is their mild radioactivity; they are therefore a reasonably priced and safe test material for sensitive gamma detectors. I will test them with a radiacode prior to shipping to ensure they are somewhat radioactive; typically in the region of 0.25-0.6usv/hr at 0CM. They are sold in 100 gram packets, containing 2-3 pieces typically.
The pictures you see here are representative of the products and are usually not the exact item you will receive. Where various grades are available we do try to photograph each grade - but some photographs are still on their way!
