The Vale of Glamorgan probably isn’t the most well known area for mineral collectors, to be honest.
As far as I’m aware, the majority of commercial exploitation in the VoG area was for iron and lead ores and limestone, rather than the coal that was mined just outside the area.
Specimens from the Vale of Glamorgan may be labelled as South Glamorgan or Glamorgan, depending on when they were collected; the county has changed names twice in relatively recent times.
I did find a book which lists a few dozen mines from Glamorgan and Monmouth as part of the NMRS British Mining collection – linked below.
