Glengonnar shaft

Mine Hill, Leadhills, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, UK

Former lead mine working the Brow and Browns veins.

The primary ores worked from the site are galena, pyrite, and chalcopyrite.

Mindat lists 19 minerals from the site, but I haven’t seen anything other than pyromorphite from here; whether specimens are from dump sites or not I’m not sure.

Mindat suggests the shaft was started in 1903, I was not able to find any info on when it was closed/abandoned.
